Kanon grew up in San Antonio, Texas, graduating from Roosevelt High in 1987. He went on to earn two college degrees before heading to law school at Southern Methodist University. Prior to joining the firm, Kanon was a felony trial prosecutor with experience in several Texas districts including Dallas County, Nueces County, and the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office. He has prosecuted hundreds of felony offenses, with numerous jury trials.

He is passionate about music and spends weekends practicing guitar playing. He also enjoys collecting and restoring old guitars, bringing them back to life. He enjoys hunting South Texas white tail deer, and exploring the U.S. Block Island is one of his favorite and frequent destinations.
